Meet Our Team » Samuel Avalos
Samuel grew up planting field crops and has always had a great love for plants and the outdoors. This is reflected in the meticulous work and the care he shows to all of the plants he oversees. In the spring, Samuel is busy making trim samples, managing an IPM program, and doing general upkeep of the houses such as repairing the weed barrier. In the winter, he is constantly trimming and checking on plants to make sure they are ready for spring! Samuel’s favorite part of working at Home Nursery is seeing the hard work of numerous people reflected in a good quality plant. Samuel says that not having a college degree does not stop him from doing the best work to achieve his objectives and produce the best possible plants. He maintains notes from previous years, trials, and research to achieve success in the field. We are very lucky to have Samuel taking care of our trees, boxwoods, and taxus!
